You will be encouraging students to apply to the program, answering their questions, and counseling parents with questions. You may even wish to initiate a fund-raising drive to help offset student expenses or plan a cultural day at your school or within the community to generate excitement. Finally, you will coordinate the application process, ensuring that all applications are complete and down payments are included. There is a great deal of paperwork involved with the preparations for the trip. It is therefore highly recommended that you enlist the help of a parent volunteer to look over all of the paperwork to make sure all forms are filled out properly with the appropriate attachments and ensure that checks are signed. This parent volunteer could also assist you with photocopy materials as well. Teachers who have had such a parent volunteer have found such assistance to be a valuable time saver!
