Student Eligibility New Perspectives: Japan is open to U.S. middle and high school students seeking to begin or extend their study of Japanese language and culture and to all precollegiate teachers. The learning outcomes of NP:J are designed to support the collaborative work of teachers and students. Therefore, students are required to travel as part of a school group led by a teacher from their school. Students must be at least 11 years old by the time of their study tour to participate in NP:J.
