| The
Charlotte Group started their 3rd day in Tokyo at the Meiji Shrine. The
temperature on Thursday was up to 35 C!!!!
Learn
how to enter the shrine. Wash your hands first, then?
Can
we drink this water?
The
Charlotte students are learning about the shrine's interior.
All
of a sudden, the ceremony started. The Charlotte Group watched the huge
Japanese Taiko(drum) as it was played powerfully in front of the students. We
could feel the vibration of the drum!

Nice

We
can't chose which one to get....

Sensoji---a
simply stated study in symmetry.
Many
NP:J schools visited Sensoji, a temple in the Asakusa district of Tokyo.
This is a picture of the outer gate.
Most
of the students were very fortunate to find a seat. This train left right
after rush hour ended!
A
classic travel shot. The scale of the Asakusa entrance dwarves the Wissahickon
group, making it VERY difficult to see faces of individuals!

This NP:J student definitely marches to
the beat of a different drummer!
Japanese
masks provide a lot of fun! Can you guess who the three NP:J participants
are?
This
is the Wissahickon drum trio, using a table to pound out some Tokyo-inspired
tunes. Eventually, the entire class formed a rhythm section!
