| The
"Torii" (gate) behind the Alicia R. Chacon students marks the
entrance to a major oasis of greenery in central Tokyo, Meiji-jingu.
It
was VERY HOT in Tokyo, so the Shinto ritual of sipping cool water before
entering a shrine was most welcome.
The
students from El Paso take a moment to purify themselves before entering
Meiji-jingu.
Alicia
R. Chacon students and Miller-sensei enjoy a shopping break in Tokyo!

The Tanabata are in place for the Star
Festival, and the bamboo trees dwarf the group from Marina High School.
Just before they begin exploring Takeshita
dori, the students from Marina pose for a group shot.
Welcome
to the Japanese version of snowcones! These are delicious, especially
on a hot and humid day. Mango snow cone, anyone?
This NP:J student exclaimed: "Oishi!"
(Delicious!)
