Several groups went to Nara where they probably saw these (or other) deer. These deer roam Nara park freely and are protected by the city. Visitors can feed them Deer Osenbei (crackers made just for deer).

This building, Todaiji, was one of the main destinations for the NP:J groups that went to Nara. The largest seated Buddha (in Japan) is housed in this building.

Thomas Edison Group at Todaiji Temple.

Thomas Edison students exchange their US money to Japanese yen at the hotel.

Thomas Edison students peruse the postcard rack. Did anyone back home receive one of these?

A Thomas Edison student crawls through a hole in a pillar at Todaiji. It is said that if one can successfully squeeze through this hole, your wish will be granted. I suppose I'd wish just to be able to get through and not get stuck!

Groups can purchase a roof tile, paint their names on it, and have it replace broken tiles. This tile will stay on Todaiji for as long as the building (and tile) exist!

Here is the finished tile!
